Feast of the Holy Angels

The Feast of the Holy Angels

The Feast of Holy Angels is less than
one weeks away. Please mark your
calendar for the following festivities as we
celebrate the feast of our Guardian Angels with this year’s
theme, “Together As One”.
Thursday, September 29, 2011 – We will start with Holy
Mass at 6:30 p.m. As we lift up our PETITIONS to God, we
stand firm in our faith that they will be granted in accordance
with His will as we ask them through our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. Following the Mass, we will kick-off our
festivities with Game Night.
Friday, September 30, 2011 – Holy Mass will be at 6:30
p.m. as we ask for the HEALING of our spiritual, physical
and emotional infirmities. Following the Mass will be a
Dinner Dance. Tickets are now available for $15.00 for
adults and $7.00 for children 12 years old and under. This
promises to be another fun-filled evening.
Saturday, October 1, 2011 – Our Festival will run from
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with plenty of entertainment for the
entire family. There will be a Multi-cultural program with
song and dance, games to challenge your skills, and
Mexican, Italian & Filipino cuisine to delight your taste buds.
We will end this day with Holy Mass at 4:30 p.m. as we offer
THANKSGIVING for all the love, grace and blessings we
have received.
Sunday, October 2, 2011 – The Feast of Holy Angels
celebration draws to a close with Holy Mass at 1:00 p.m.
Following the Mass, we will have our Raffle Drawing, so
make sure that all raffle tickets are returned before then.
Looking forward to your participation and support of this
week’s festivities as we, a parish community, come
“Together As One”. Remember all proceeds for all these
events will go directly to the church. Hope to see you there!

Stations of the Cross

The traditional Lenten devotion of the
“Stations of the Cross” is held every Friday
during Lent at 8:00 am after the 7:30 Mass and
6:15 pm after the 5:45 Mass. Spanish Stations
are also on Friday at 7:00 pm.

Introduced by St. Francis of Assisi during the Middle Ages,
the “Stations” has been one of the traditional ways we can
enhance and intensify our prayer life during Lent. It is
certainly a pleasing offering to God for our intentions.

Ash Wednesday and Lent

ASH WEDNESDAY, February 22nd
Ashes will be distributed during the 7:30 am, 8:45
(School Mass) and 5:45 pm Masses, (no
ashes after Mass) and also during the 7:00 pm
Spanish Mass (no ashes after Mass).

Abstinence: Everyone fourteen years of
age and older is bound to abstain from meat
on ASH WEDNESDAY, the FRIDAYS OF
LENT and GOOD FRIDAY.

Fast Everyone eighteen years of age and older but under
the age of sixty is also bound to fast on ASH WEDNESDAY
and GOOD FRIDAY. When health or ability to work would
be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. In the spirit of
penance, the faithful should not lightly excuse themselves
from this obligation.

Our new Handicapp Rails for the Hall

We would like to convey our appreciation
to Mr. Leo Gomez of Ornamental
Iron Works in San Francisco and his crew
for the professional installation of the galvanized iron hand
railing outside our parish hall. We would also like to thank
Frank Hernandez for initiating the contact with Mr. Gomez
to replace the old wood railing. The hand railing is well
built and will assist those using the walkway. Thank you
for your gifts of time, talent and treasure. May God continue
to bless you for your generosity.

Father's Message for the Archbishops Annual Appeal

Father's Message for the Archbishops Annual Appeal

My Dear Parishioners and Friends of Holy Angels Parish,

The yearly launching of the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal in our Parish begins in the Season of Lent. During this Season of Prayer and Fasting, I invite you to reflect on how we can also make our offerings and sacrifices concrete and meaningful as we respond to the various works and programs that our Archdiocese is attending to. As we all know, it is only through the support of the parishes in the Archdiocese that these different works and programs are attainable and made possible.

As always, the Archdiocese of San Francisco is ever grateful to the parishioners of Holy Angels Church for your generous support and contribution to the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal. As a parish, we have reached the goal of our last year’s assessment and completed the amount of 61,116.

Even in this time of economic crisis, I believe that our faith is more determined to reach out to the help of the needy. For this year 2010, our assessment is 63,600.

Your pledge to the AAA will certainly give the Archdiocese the assurance and confidence to minister and serve the needs of the Local Church.

I therefore thank you for your unending support for the Archdiocese as well as the parish. May God bless you all!

Sincerely,

Fr. Manuel Curso
